Cooking degree refers generally the heat processing degree of feed product in international market. But we call it as aging degree in home. In general , it takes the starch gelatinization degree of feed  as features. And high gelatinization degree is the most important difference between puffing feed and general pellet feed. In general , the starch gelatinization degree of floating puffed fish feed is no less than 90%. But as for the gelatinization degree of sinking puffed feed, the whole line supplier haven’t make a consensus, even though they all think puffed feed is better than general pellet.We thought the starch gelatininization degree of puffed sinking feed should not less than the floating feed. Or , the pellet processing equipment is more competitive, if the puffed feed is better than the pellet feed only in the surface of feed but gelatinization is not better. According to this point, the requirements of puffed sinking pellet equipment is higher than the floating feed equipment. Firstly, the starch gelatinization should be same as floating feed’s. Secondly, it needs to reduce the die output temperature and pressure to avoid floating because of over puffing. If the puffing equipment could process floating feed as well as sinking feed, then the capacity of sinking feed is generally 60-70% of floating feed capacity.
 
If compare puffing feed with general pellet, the most advantage is easy to digest and absorb, high feed reward, less water pollution and so on. So in the field of floating feed ,puffing production is already adopted basically.And mostly high-end feed are sinking.
