(1) small pellet size. Due to the short digestive tract and special physiological characteristics of aquatic animal, the particle size of aquatic feed should be smaller than the livestock and poultry feed’s for improving digestion. For example, eel feed, shrimp feed, its particle will be 80~120mesh.
(2) High protein but low carbohydrate.The protein content in livestock and poultry feed is generally less than 20%. But the protein content in aquatic animal feed is mostly 30%~40%. And the protein content in soft-shelled turtle and eel feed is more than 65%~70%.
(3) Pellet feed with compact structure, high adhesion and water resistance of the material requirements, shrimp feed stability in water up to 2 hours.
(4) To avoid cross contamination in aquatic feed processing. So some raw materials needed to be processed sterile. The processing equipment need to be cleaned easily and less residue. Especially in the processing of shrimp and eel feed, other feed is not allowed process at the same time.
